Tasting Notes:
The palate is full and well rounded by an appropriate use of French oak for both fermentation and maturation. The rich multilayered texture has been lovingly developed by extensive lees stirring in barrel. Outstanding palate length is achieved by beautifully balanced acid combining with an opulent display of fruit, a product of our cool climate extensive growing season. This wine is a delight to the consumer now and will continue to be so for at least another 5 years.
Winemaker Notes:
True to classic Hinton Bay style, the 2021 vintage is an opulent cool climate Chardonnay. Our fruit is all estate grown from predominantly Penfolds clones which have been close planted and dry grown, resulting in extremely low yields of intensely flavoured grapes which create Chardonnay of outstanding character.
Hinton Bay Vineyard is situated in the heart of the Tamar Valley and located on the banks of the Tamar River one of Tasmania’s super premium wine producing regions. It is here where we continue our pursuit of excellence in the making of premium fine wines since our beginnings in 1989.
